Not all directors start out behind the camera. David Weinstock got his start behind the brands themselves. He began his creative career as a graphic designer and art director, crafting integrated identity work for brands like Kmart, NBC, Coke, Lucent, Intel, Toro, and AT&T.

A graduate of Pratt Institute's Communications Design program, Weinstock has received recognition and awards from the American Institute Of Graphic Arts, Graphic Design USA, Print Magazine, Adweek, Ad Age, and the Broadcast Designer's Association.

Following his passion for film, Weinstock stepped into the director's chair in 2006. He took top honors with a series of humor-infused commercials he directed through the film collective, Group101Spots. In less than a year, he received a New Directors Grant from Getty Images and was featured in Shoot Magazine's 2008 New Directors Showcase. His work has been highlighted in Adweek's "Ad of The Day," Shoot Magazine's "Best Work You May Never See," Brand Freak, Ad Age, Creativity Magazine, and Boards Magazine Online.

In 2009, Weinstock received a Clio for the Trojan Condoms campaign he directed for The Kaplan Thaler Group. He also wrote and directed "Skate Life" a series of spots for MTV that has been used in the recent relaunch of the MTV brand. David continues to develop integrated content for the network on a regular basis.
